Nature is made of opposites, in our case of "sharp and rounded" we can’t forget the example of the fruit. A fruit is the product that the plant produces to provide protection, nourishment and means of spreading the seed, but each plant species produces fruit very different types of fruit.
Here we can then find some fruit really "SHARP ": just think of pineapple, South American fruit covered with rough, sharp flakes and milled with a tuft, or the prickly pear, Mexican plant naturalized in the Mediterranean, whose fruits are covered with glochids, thin spines that break off easily on contact, sticking in the skin of the notch predator.
La natura è fatta di opposti, nel nostro caso di “sharp and rounded” non possiamo non dimenticare l’esempio della frutta. Un frutto è il prodotto che la pianta produce per fornire protezione, nutrimento e mezzo di diffusione al seme, ma ogni specie vegetale da frutto produce tipologie di frutta diversissime tra loro.
Ecco che possiamo quindi trovare dei frutti davvero “SHARP”: basta pensare all’ananas, frutto sudamericano ricoperto da scagliette ruvide e appuntite e con un ciuffo zigrinato, oppure al fico d’india, pianta messicana naturalizzata nel Mediterraneo i cui frutti sono ricoperti da glochidi, sottilissime spine che si staccano facilmente al contatto conficcandosi nella pelle dell’incauto predatore.
