The studies carried out by the Department of Internal Medicine and Public Medicine, University of Bari, reveal that the medical sharp injuries among nursing students are an occupational hazard emerging: every year 18% of nursing students incur injuries caused by sharp objects, primarily the insulin needles. The most critical part is the needle recapping and disposal. The university will then need to take action with respect to the training of nurses, given by the danger of infection with such kind of puncture and wounds.
Dagli studi effettuati dal Dipartimento Medicina Interna e Medicina Pubblica dell’Università degli studi di Bari, gli infortuni da dispositivi taglienti tra gli studenti di infermieristica sono un rischio professionale emergente: ogni anno il 18% degli studenti infermieri incorre in ferite provocate da oggetti taglienti, in primis gli aghi da insulina. La parte più critica è il reincappucciamento e lo smaltimento dell’ago. L’università dovrà quindi prendere provvedimenti riguardo al tirocinio degli infermieri, vista la pericolosità di infezione e contagio con punture e ferite di questo genere.
