The Colombian artist Fernando Botero is one of the most famous and paid in the world. His reputation is certainly due to the unmistakable style that portrays people from both large and exaggerated proportions, figures always rounded and "fat".
The reason for this pattern is explained by the same Botero: "An artist is attracted to certain kinds of form without knowing why. You adopt a position intuitively; only later do you attempt to rationalize or even justify it."
Il colombiano Fernando Botero è uno degli artisti più famosi e pagati del mondo. La sua fama è certamente dovuta all’inconfondibile stile che ritrae persone dalle proporzioni dilatate ed esagerate, figure sempre tondeggianti e “grasse”.
Il perché di questo stile viene spiegato dallo stesso Botero: "Un’artista è attratto da certi tipi di forme senza saperne il motivo. Prima adotto una posizione per istinto, e solo in un secondo tempo cerco di razionalizzarla o anche di giustificarla."
