Rounded land and sharp body

Among the most important currents of contemporary art, we find the land art and the Body Art, which subjects are diametrically opposed, the first one focus its research on the earth and the nature and the second one on human body.

Within our speech, of particular interest are the works of the land artist Smithson and Long, which investigate space dimension, through circular sculptures made of stone and earth; in the body Art instead affect the performance of artists such as Gina Pane and Yoko Ono, that use the cut of clothes or of the body itself as a metaphor to violate or denounce the taboo of modern society.

Tra le più importanti correnti di arte contemporanea troviamo quella della Land Art e quella della Body Art, i cui soggetti sono diametralmente opposti, il primo infatti incentra la propria ricerca sulla terra e la natura mentre il secondo sull’corpo umano.

All’interno del nostro discorso, risultano di particolare interesse le opere dei land artist Smithson e Long, i quali indagano la dimensione spaziale attraverso sculture circolari realizzate in pietra e terra; all’interno della Body Art invece colpiscono le performance di artisti come Gina Pane e Yoko Ono le quali utilizzano il taglio dei vestiti o del corpo stesso come metafora per violare o denunciare i tabù della società moderna.
