The Night of the Long Knives (29-30 June 1934) was the purge of the Nazi leaders of Sturmabteilungen (SA) and political opponents of Adolf Hitler; is considered who have been murdered between 77 (official figure) and 400 people, but some historians bring the number to over 1,000. Just for the assassination of these people, the knife (sharp instrument) becomes the symbol of this bloody night. Hitler would not be able to seize power without the help of Ernst Roehm and his SA, or without the support of military and economic powers.
La Notte dei lunghi coltelli (29-30 giugno 1934) fu l'epurazione nazista dei vertici delle Sturmabteilungen (SA) e degli oppositori politici di Adolf Hitler; si ritiene che siano state assassinate tra le 77 (dato ufficiale) e le 400 persone, ma alcuni storici portano il numero ad oltre 1.000. Proprio per l'assasinio di queste persone, il coltello (strumento affilato) diviene il simbolo di questa notte sanguinosa.
